Question #1: I was reading about some new inventions for the future the other day. One invention was a car that could drive itself using programmed routes. A person could get in the car, set the computer to where he wanted to go, and the car automatically would reach the destination without anyone physically driving the car. Another invention mentioned was 3D television. In your opinion, which invention would the better one? Why? What would be some disadvantages of that invention? Which invention would you rather own?

  1. I would chose the car as one of the new inventions I would own. It would be great to get in the car and punch some buttons and get there without getting lost. My concerns would be whether it would be able to detect unforeseen problems, such as closed roads, accidents, car trouble. I am not sure I would like to wear 3-D glasses while I am watching TV. I have enough trouble keeping track of my regular ones. So if I were to choose one to go and purchase it would be the car.

  2. I would choose the car as the best invention as I would love to be able to drive myself somewhere while I took a nap.

  3. Of the two choices, I would be interested in the car. Not for everyday use, but for the ability to travel to unfamiliar areas or for long didtances on highways. I think the problems of "what if" would be lessened on roads such as interstates as opposed to city and county driving. One way to avoid problems that might arise, such as people, on-coming traffic, slow traffic, etc., would be to create a new set of "computerized car" roadways that could be monitored much like the railroads of today.

  4. 3-D TV would be best for me. It would be awesome to be able to see real live places in your own home.
